Fabric story

The African wax fabric we use for our Awoulaba tote was given it’s name and meaning by the Baoulé women (of the Ivory Coast), who wore the fabric to communicate information
about themselves.

For Baoulé people, Awoulaba means Queen of Beauty. Women with generous curves, are called Awoulaba. Tembo’s Awoulaba colors may change, but the pattern and message is the same—curves are beautiful!
